As you may remember there was a fish kill in the LeTort Spring Creek on Carlisle Barracks property on July 31, 2019. There was an investigation by Army and PA authorities. PA authorities completed their investigation finding two violations: a discharge of pollution from the Letort Interceptor Rehabilitation Project (a project to reline sewer lines in the borough of Carlisle), and an unpermitted discharge of sewage. The lab reports and findings can be found here.
There is good news. John Zazworsky has friends living on post who report that they’ve seen trout active in the areas that were affected by the spill. A good initial sign that the stream is healing!
