Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the CVTU Board of Directors voted to cancel the 2020 Limestoner that was scheduled (for the third time in 2020) for October 3rd. We are looking to schedule the 2021 Limestoner for March 2021…stay tuned. If you have purchased tickets for the 2020 Limestoner, you can roll your reservation over to 2021, request a refund, or donate it toward our stream restoration fund. Please let us know your preference by e-mailing us – cvtu052@gmail.com. The 50/50 drawing was held on our August, 2020 ZOOM membership meeting.
Again, we want to thank our banquet sponsors and encourage you to please support these businesses listed below.
Join friends and fellow conservationists. Have some laughs, good conversation, and see who wins the “Rising Trout”, Limestoner, and Order of the Quill awards. Be part of making this year’s banquet another success story!
A CVTU annual tradition, the Limestoner Awards and Fundraising Banquet is held the third weekend in March. This year the Limestoner is on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Carlisle Country Club. Social Hour with cash bar starts at 5:30pm and dinner is at 7:00pm. During the banquet the Charles K. Fox “Rising Trout”, the Limestoner and the Order of the Quill awards will be presented. We will have a wide array of raffle items, silent auction items, and a live auction.
Since 2014 the Limestoner has supplied over 70% of CVTU’s discretionary funds. Your support allows us to continue our coldwater conservation work and share our sport with others. Some of the activities funded by attending the Limestoner Banquest include:
- Stream improvement projects such as the Wittlinger projects on the Yellow Breeches
- Support for conservation education such as:
- Trout in the Classroom where students raise trout and learn about river conservation
- Rivers Conservation and Fly Fishing Youth Camp
- Perry County Youth Day
- Support of other conservation organizations such as:
- Yellow Breeches Anglers and Conservation Association
- The Central Pennsylvania Conservancy
- Support for organizations using the therapeutic value of fly fishing:
- Reel Recovery, a program for men living with cancer
- Street to Stream, a program pairing vulnerable teens with volunteer mentors teaching fly fishing and conservation values
In addition, our members also contribute 1000’s of hours of volunteer time in support of these activities.
Be part of making this year’s banquet another success story! Ticket costs are $45 per person. Get your tickets here.
