The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many changes to our routines.  We are all supposed to wear masks, to keep six feet apart, and to wash our hands frequently to help keep us from catching the disease and to help keep others safe.  Cumberland Valley Trout Unlimited (CVTU) has canceled all our events and our monthly meetings at Appalachian Brewing Company for the foreseeable future.  Your Board of Directors continues to meet on Zoom monthly and we are trying to keep you engaged with the chapter by providing a live program on CVTU’s Facebook page at our usual meeting time, 7:00 PM on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

One of the changes we need to make requires the approval of our membership.  We must edit our bylaws regarding the way we can vote.  The current bylaws only allow for voting at a membership meeting. We cannot hold face-to-face meetings right now, but we can have a membership meeting via Zoom. The proposed bylaw changes (found here) will give all members an opportunity to vote for bylaw changes as well as for Board of Directors elections in September by mail-in ballots, online ballots, or in-person ballots.

CVTU is having a special membership meeting (via Zoom) on August 19, 2020 at 7:00 PM.  We must have at least 30 members at the Zoom meeting to vote on the proposed changes.  You will receive an e-mail reminder of the meeting on August 19th along with a link to join the meeting.  If you are not on CVTU’s e-mail list, send an e-mail to cvto052@gmail.com and ask to be added.  Nobody else will get your address, including TU national.  We only send about two e-mails a month and you can unsubscribe anytime.

If you have any questions about the bylaw changes, please e-mail them to cvtu052@gmail.com or call John Leonard at (717) 512-4620.  Thank you!
