Cumberland Valley Trout Unlimited received a grant to create a Coldwater Conservation Plan for the upper portion of the Letort Spring Run. The grant was awarded by the Pennsylvania Coldwater Heritage Partnership, a collaborative effort between PA Fish & Boat Commission, PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds and Pennsylvania Council of Trout Unlimited.
A Coldwater Conservation Plan is a plan that identifies threats to the health of an ecosystem with naturally reproducing trout and goes on to identify opportunities for restoration and conservation of that ecosystem. The coldwater plan becomes the foundation for more comprehensive planning and/or development of watershed improvement projects.
It is important that local stakeholders are aware of this program and have input into it. As such, Cumberland Valley Trout Unlimited would like to invite you to a meeting to review the plan. The meeting will cover the scope of the plan, outline of the contents, the process being followed and expected result.
Unfortunately, we cannot hold in-person meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore we will be hosting a virtual meeting using Zoom, on Thursday, September 17 at 6:30 pm.
